Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - In an effort to improve on their last performance, the Arrows took to the field to take on another opponent new to the league, Offerdahl's Ornery's.
The Arrows were looking to capitalize with addition of some new recruits and some players returning from injury. Centre, Alistair Erskine returned to action this game, playing a vital role in some exciting drives. Erskine caught a total of 5 passes for about 63 yards for the game. Chris Wannamaker caught the Arrows first touchdown pass of the season for the squadron in the first half od the game and that eneded up being the only points the Arrows scored in the game.
There were several successful drives by the offence, but were well short of capitalizing when in the position to score. Arrows' quarterback Chi-Wah Chan managed to throw five interceptions in the game, killing many of the drives and making the defence's job a lot harder.
The defence managed to make some big plays, intercepting five passes by the opposing quarterback. Defensive captain, Jose MacPherson made two interceptions, and Gianluca Ferarri made really big one at the goaline to stop a scoring opportunity. There were some blown coverage in the backfield, leading to the opponent's continuing drives that could have easily caused a turnover on downs, but in the end, the offence couldn't not move the ball effectively and consistently during the game.
The final tally of the game was 25-6. Arrows who now stand at 0-2, will back in action next week to face off against ThunderCats. Arrows lost both games to the ThunderCats last season, losing 20-8 and 20-0. The game is on Monday, June 14th at the Mississauga Valleys, with kickoff at 9:30pm.
